The Western Australian Goldfields is home to the first CollectionsCare regional hub. CollectionsCare aims to develop practical skills and knowledge for paid staff and volunteers, to attract new resources for regional collections, and to unlock the educational, economic and cultural potential of collections held in regional communities.
The project has been made possible by support from the Directors of the Myer Foundation, the Collections Council of Australia
, Western Australian Department of Culture and the Arts
and the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder
Elaine Labuschagne was appointed as the CollectionsCare Coordinator at the beginning of March 2010, and the hub will be her office at the Boulder Town Hall.
Members of this group can read updates on the progress of CollectionsCare, participate in discussion about models and resources for supporting regional collections, and share stories, experiences and photographs.
If you would like more information about CollectionsCare, please contact Elaine Labuschagne on the details below.
