Hi All

I've just noticed on the MA website that the code of ethics is being updated to be launched early in 2011.  Is anyone in the loop about this?  If it is to be early 2011 it would be good to see a copy and hold off on a new edition until the new code of ethics is available

I am re-posting this so it is not missed for v1.2

Thanks Aimee... Hi everyone. I'm the Policy and Research Officer at Accessible Arts and I thought I would just add a few comments, although I understand that the editing of various sections has probably been completed!

Standard A1.6.1 - You may wish to add the following to the web site resource list: Australian Human Rights commission - www.hreoc.gov.au and most specifically this page:
http://www.humanrights.gov.au/disability_rights/buildings/access_to...

Standard A2.2.1 - It's great that you have 'access policy' in this list. The websites (above) would also be good here. The www.hreoc and www.humanrights websites both access the same site and hopefully they always will. Not sure if it would be worth contacting them to see if the hreoc address will always work in the future.

Benchmark A4.2.2 The title of the document from Accessible Arts is 'Venue Access Audit', not 'Access Audit'. I'm not sure of the address behind the link but if you need it, it's www.aarts.net.au/resources/accessing-the-arts/

Benchmark B1.1.4 I'm not sure if you wanted to include people/organisations in the resource list (it could be exhaustive!) but Accessible Arts can provide advice/consultation regarding issues of audience development. A link to our site might be useful here: http://www.aarts.net.au/resources/

Just some ideas.
Regards
Lee

I'm also reposting this so it is not missed for version 1.2

Hi all - I've just found a new report relating to these issues, at:

http://www.aarts.net.au/news/949/51/Report-explores-disability-acce...

Hope it can be considered as a new resource in future updates of the Standards.

Thanks to Veronica Macno and Joanne Hyland for the information.

Resource addition for A3.2.2:

Arts Tasmania's Museum Induction Package for Volunteers and the link to Arts Tasmania's
website for download http://www.arts.tas.gov.au/resources

Hi All

I just came across a Safety blog being run by the safety supplier Seton

http://safetyblog.seton.net.au/

I thought it COULD be a useful additional reference for A2.6.2 Occupational Health & Safety obligations are fulfilled

as it outlines updates to legislation etc.  but it could also be a bit commercial.  What do others think?

Hi everyone

I have found a number of changes to links and info required for Part A. These Include:

Benchmark A 1.1.3

Cultural Gifts Program – remove DEWHA and replace with

Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Office for the Arts (2011) - new links:

http://www.arts.gov.au/funding-support/tax-incentives/cultural-gift...

http://www.arts.gov.au/funding-support/tax-incentives/cultural-gift...

All Cultural Gifts Program forms have been revised. The new forms (as provided on the website) must be used for all donation paperwork submitted to the Committee. Checklists are also available to ensure paperwork complies with Committee requirements.

Benchmark A1.3.1

Remove CCA from National Peak Bodies?

Remove CAN from networks?? Discussed by Ann?

Benchmark A1.5.1

Robertson, Oral History Handbook (2006)

Link does not bring up Oral History Handbook but brings up:

An Archive of Old House Architecture & History in Australia (Http://ohaa.net.au/)

The correct link is: http://www.ohaa.org.au/page/oral_history_handbook_by_beth_m_roberts...

Difference is that it should be .org.au and not .net.au

MA, Continuous Cultures, Ongoing Responsibilities (2005) – error link not found

Australian Government, DEWHA, Movable Cultural Heritage – link no longer there – new link to new Department only has list of funding recipients – no protocol.

Is this relevant at all as a replacement?

Commonwealth Consolidated Acts

PROTECTION OF MOVABLE CULTURAL HERITAGE ACT 1986

http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/cth/consol_act/pomcha1986393/

OR is the NLA link better? It is a policy statement dating to 1995

Heritage Collections Committee of the Cultural Ministers Council

National Conservation and Preservation Policy for Movable Cultural Heritage

 http://www.nla.gov.au/preserve/cult.html

Benchmark A1.6.1

Remove reference to DEWHA - now Dept for Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities – DSEWPC?

Benchmark A2.1.1

Moore, Purpose (1998) – NOT FOUND

Benchmark A2.4.1

Bettington et al., Keeping Archives (2008) – NOT FOUND

Can be located for purchase through NLA Trove

http://trove.nla.gov.au/work/6235474?selectedversion=NBD43181353

Benchmark A4.2.2

Change to read Venue Access Audit as per info from Accessible Arts Officer (previously noted)

Benchmark A4.3.4

Should read Re:source not Resource

Jo

Hi Sarah - I have looked at the Seton blog site and agree that it does include useful material but as you say it is very commercial and I am not sure that is appropropriate to provide a link to it in this instance.

Hi Ann

Thanks for posting these. I did not get the notification email stating that someone else had posted here but checked after I got your email. I will add them to the final document of changes and updates for Dimity.

Have not yet had notification of when Dimity is available and how long it might take so still working on the previous timeline dates until notified otherwise.

Cheers, Jo
