What does anybody know about this?

Here is the announcement from the VC at the University of Technology Sydney.

"Lisa Colley has been appointed Director of the Rudd Government’s $17 million Creative Industries Innovation Centre. Lisa’s appointment was announced by Innovation Minister Senator Kim Carr and Minister for the Arts Peter Garrett earlier this month, with both lauding her appointment as a boost for Australia’s creative industries.

The CIIC is part of the Enterprise Connect network - a $50 million a year initiative to help small and medium-sized enterprises across the country boost productivity, improve innovation and increase competitiveness. Lisa, whose previous roles include Executive Director of Policy, Communication, Research at the Australia Council for the Arts and inaugural manager of the New Media Arts Board, also retains her posting at UTS as Director, Events, Exhibitions and Projects. Lisa’s appointment is a boon for UTS, further strengthening our connection with the CIIC."

Hi Des
The CIIC is an interesting proposal. http://www.enterpriseconnect.gov.au/Innovation/Pages/CreativeIndust...
My understanding is that it provides a link between SMEs and capacity - something which other creative industries in Australia aren't doing on the ground. I'll be interested to see how it develops.
